Spoke Contributors aren’t afraid to put their stake in the ground on what works for them as parents trying to keep their tiny humans alive and (relatively) happy—while trying to stay sane themselves. Spoke Contributors also aren’t afraid to laugh at themselves , nor are they afraid of being vulnerable —because ultimately Spoke parents want to empower other parents through their own experiences. We reach 20 million parents every month across our email, web and social channels—which means your Spoke stories will, too! Spoke Contributors also have the chance for unique opportunities to work with our brand partners on various campaigns, many of which are compensated. What Makes a Great Spoke Story The stories that perform the best on the Spoke Network are those that offer compelling, engaging and raw honesty about what it’s like to be a parent today—and tell those stories in a way that doesn’t feel exclusionary, judgmental or pushy. There are three general types of posts we want to publish on Spoke. While we will consider posts that don’t quite fit into these three categories, writing with these types of posts in mind will make it far likelier that your post will be published on Spoke. Parenting Real Talk Real Talk posts are authentic and unapologetic about parenting and parenthood. Whether you’re writing an open letter to other parents out there, or baring your soul for a 3 a.m. marriage confessional, we want to give your vulnerable yet relatable stories a home. Parenting Humor When you really stop to think about it, raising tiny humans is a pretty daunting task—but it’s also a pretty hilarious job, too. Let’s all laugh together with your hilarious stories and humorous takes that only other parents can truly appreciate. Rockstar Parenting We want your sanity-saving, most genius parenting hacks and tricks. We want to hear how you survive being a stay-at-home parent, a working parent, a single parent, a co-parent. We want to hear from empowered parents raising woke kids. We want to hear your #ParentingWins, your open letters cheering each other on and celebrating other rockstar parents you might come across “in the wild.” See more examples of what we’re looking for here . What We’re Not Looking For We all have opinions, but we like to leave controversial topics like breastfeeding vs. bottle feeding, vaccinating your kids (or not) and the like to other online outlets. Red Tricycle is an inclusive community where parents come for a positive experience and to feel good about whatever style of parenting they practice. That means no judgment, no preaching and no lectures. At this time, we are not accepting videos, recipes or craft projects. We reserve the right to remove posts that include personal attacks, are intended to troll or are otherwise inflammatory, offensive or spam. Contributors who submit such articles will be banned from our Network. Our Spoke FAQ has more about our content guidelines. How Spoke Works Once you sign up, you can submit any article you’d like, whenever you like, as often as you’d like! There are no deadlines nor any requirement to pitch stories. About 800 words is a good target for posts, though we will happily consider more or less. We always encourage and welcome original content, but we also know that viral stories go viral for a reason, so we happily welcome republication of your strongest blog posts here on Spoke. At the bottom of each post you contribute, we’ll display your bio with links back to your website and social media profiles. You’ll also get three links back to any blog posts you choose to display at the bottom of each of your Spoke posts. As always, the best Spoke stories are those that require only but the lightest of editorial touches, meaning that they are fully proofread for grammar, spelling and typos. It also helps if you read through our Spoke Contributor Network Style Guide before submitting your post and adjusting your writing if needed (for example, we don’t use the Oxford comma).
